A man is on trial for a decision he didn’t make and everyone has to handle the complexity of the case. How can you claim anyone responsible for a decision that is not made by a human?
The film is inspired by the ongoing research project “Digitalized Warfare – Responsibility, Intentionality and the Rule of Law” by Gregor Noll, Moa Dahlbeck, and Valentin Jeutner. It touches the burning questions of how our legal system is lagging behind technical developments, especially A.I.
The film is independently produced by KW produktion AB with economic support of Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (a major research financier in Sweden).

Feedback from judges:
“Some really interesting ideas. More worldbuilding needed.”
“Really interesting idea – very well executed. Reminds me of The Big Short. Well edited and informative. Very good.”
“A well produced little short on where self-determination, responsibility and self-control begin and end in the digital world. Raises more questions than it answers… but a very relevant short film.”
“I liked the intrigue and intensity of situating philosophical questions about technology within a court setting. The framing feels quite similar to THE BIG SHORT.”
